In 2007 the Green Armada, led by its founders and with the support of numerous volunteers,
pulled 124,000 pounds of trash from Tampa Bay. In June 2007 the Green Armada organized
the largest coastal cleanup in the history of the southeastern United States where
600 people pulled 9,500 bags of trash from Clam Bayou in St. Petersburg. The Founders
were recognized as Heroes of the Year by People Magazine, CNN and Reader’s Digest.
The Foundation will continue to grow in 2008 from its humble roots, where it was
primarily financed by the Albanese family, into a global organization. That process
starts today with you.
You can get involved in three ways. You can volunteer, donate to the cause or have
your business join the fight.
